Creativity Camp
In this class, we will explore the dimensions of creativity: Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, and Elaboration. This is an excellent extension & enrichment class for gifted students, but all learners can benefit from creative thinking!

I will provide extension activities and suggestions if students would like to continue the creative flow of ideas. Students will be given an opportunity to share something they did at the beginning of the next class. This would be an optional extension.Class Experience
In this class, we will stretch our minds and think creatively! Our world needs creative thinkers and skilled problem solvers! There are 4 dimensions to describe creativity. We will cover one dimension during each meeting. Day 1: Fluency-- generating lots of ideas, making lists, brainstorming (example: How many orange things can you name? How many round things can you name?) Day 2: Flexibility-- the ability to look at things from a different viewpoint (example: What are new uses for an umbrella? If we didn't have rakes, what would be another way to gather the leaves?) Day 3: Originality-- generating unique, unusual, or unexpected ideas and products (If you could make your own holiday, what would you celebrate and how? What are other uses for a paper clip?) Day 4: Elaboration-- adding details, filling in gaps, and completing new ideas (example: Given a sheet of 10 circles, students will transform the circles into new designs. Looking at a picture of a flower, students will turn it in to something else.) Learners identified as gifted and talented would do well in this class, but all are welcome to bring their ideas and stretch their mighty minds! NOTE: If you have taken my Might Minds: Creative Thinking Class, the concepts are the same, but I will use different activities in this class to change it up.

Parental Guidance
This class needs a minimum of 2 learners or I will need to cancel and refund. I will give at least 24-48 notice if this occurs.
Supply List
2-page printable will be provided prior to class. Writing and drawing materials as desired. Paper or white board/dry erase marker for jotting notes.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
