Using a slideshow presentation, I will read The Mystery at the Furry Friends Animal Shelter story to the team. The story will stop several times, and there will be 5 puzzles to solve. It is important to me that all learners feel confident and successful in this class. If one learner is allowed to shout out the answer to the puzzle right away, this does not allow the others to have the chance to solve it. All brains work differently, and this is not a competition. There are many learning goals to this type of class. A few learning goals are as follows: 1. Think about a problem logically. 2. Discuss solutions with peers and a teacher. 3. Listen while others share. 4. Practice reading and math skills as found in puzzles, brainteasers, and riddles.
Students can bring paper and pencil to class, in case they need to jot down notes about a puzzle.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
