Welcome to Creating Mindfulness. In this class, learners will embark on a journey of self-discovery, cultivating mindfulness practices that enhance well-being, focus, and emotional resilience. Engaging Mindfulness Sessions: These classes feature interactive mindfulness sessions tailored to the unique needs and interests of children. Through guided meditations, breathing exercises, and mindful activities, participants will develop valuable tools to navigate the challenges of day to day life. *Creative Visualization* Sparking imagination is a cornerstone of our program. Learners will embark on virtual journeys, guided by creative visualizations that stimulate their senses and promote a sense of calm and focus. These exercises foster a connection between the mind and the present moment. *Mindful Movement* We incorporate gentle and age-appropriate mindful movement activities. These activities, such as simple stretching exercises, promote physical well-being while reinforcing the connection between the mind and body. *Mindfulness Journaling* Learners are encouraged to record their thoughts, feelings, and reflections. Journaling encourages self-expression and helps learners develop a deeper understanding of their emotions and experiences. *Community Building* This class includes discussion forums and group activities that foster a sense of community among participants. Connecting with peers in a supportive online environment enhances the overall experience and provides a space for sharing insights. **Note: If there is only one learner that enrolls, the class will still be held. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Ms. Lynita. I have been a certified teacher for over 25 years, with experience ranging from preschool and kindergarten to secondary education. I've taught several subjects, and I specifically taught Spanish to students of all ages for over 15 years. On Outschool, I have multiple courses that I bring my expertise to including: Growth Mindset, Mindfulness, and my most popular class, Gratitude. I also offer many fun classes like How to get Your Closet Organized, and United States Dialect (Speaking American) courses where students can learn from each others' experiences.
I'm excited to have the opportunity to continue teaching and sharing my knowledge and positive outlook with my students.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Spanish Endorsement from Iowa Wesleyan University. During my studies, I was immersed in the Spanish language, and in other cultures, while living with a family in Costa Rica and experiencing their culture. I love sharing the Spanish language with both new and experienced students!
I love helping students figure out how to live their best life by practicing gratitude, having a "can do" attitude, and working through stress and difficult situations.
I am able to incorporate a variety of teaching practices, such as visual, auditory, and hands-on learning. I often model with the teaching strategy: I do, we do, you do. This ensures all learners are able to absorb the lesson by first watching and then doing. I love to have fun in class and I try to incorporate fun songs, sayings, or games to help retain information.
Even though I no longer teach in a public school setting, I would be lost without teaching in some way. I enjoy teaching online and reaching students all over the world. Traveling is also a passion of mine. I believe learning about other cultures can enrich us all, and what better way than by traveling, to experience another culture in person? I am a farmer's wife and love the country life. My husband and I have 4 children and are empty-nesters. I can't wait to meet you in the classroom.
