Creating a Character: An Actor’s Preparation
In this class, students will learn to create a well developed character and discover how to bring it to life through physicality, voice and emotion. Starting with script analysis through to well crafted performance.

Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this one off class we look at some existing characters from Theatre and Film and learn the fundamentals of quickly creating a character. We will learn various acting techniques and how to analyse a script and use it all to make the characters our own. Learners will be encouraged to open discussions between each other about crafting their characters and to learn the importance of insight and direction from others in order to further develop performances. - Students will learn to analyse a script. They will learn to use physicality, voice and emotion to quickly create a well thought out character. They will also learn to have confidence in their abilities and in the process of developing a character.
I am a graduate of the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts and studied there after winning the Kirk Douglas Scholarship. Awarded to only one student per year across the globe. I am now a professional Actor and would like to use my years of training and experience to teach a new generation of passionate Actors.
Classes will require the student to have a camera turned on due to the performance aspect of the class.
In this class we will deal with various themes outlined in Film and Theatre Scripts, all subject will be vetted and age appropriate. We will also be discussing emotions which will be done in a sensitive manner.
This class will refer to the techniques taught in Respect for Acting by Uta Hagen on occasion during these classes.
