In this interactive class, students will participate in songs, TPR exercises and simple games such as "Simon Says (Simón Dice)" to learn Spanish vocabulary related to basic body parts (i.e. body, head, hands, arms, legs, feet, etc.). Class will be conducted completely in Spanish with minimal English for clarification. Language will be made comprehensible with gestures and visuals as I point to my stuffed animal's arms, legs, head, and so on. Students will demonstrate comprehension through thumbs-up/down, pointing to parts as I say them on their own stuffed animals, answering either/or questions and finally coloring their monsters part by part. This class is perfect for absolute beginners or students who need a little bit of a refresher (and want to get up and move!).
Learning Goals
Students will distinguish between basic parts of the body in Spanish. Students will also learn some colors and numbers in Spanish as we color.

¡Hola a todos! My name is Sra. Frailey. Ever since I was very young, I have been passionate about learning new languages and exploring global cultures. Some of my first experiences with Spanish were through games and conversation platforms online. I know the profound impact that virtual resources and experiences can have on students' lifelong learning. As such, I am thrilled to provide engaging class experiences to students now through Outschool!
Regarding my qualifications, I hold my BS. Ed. in K-12 Spanish Education. I have studied abroad in Puebla, Mexico and love to share the food, language and culture with my students as it interests them. I believe that languages are best learned in the context of community. For this reason, I always strive to foster a positive, encouraging environment within the classroom. I generally strive to teach students through conversation, problem-solving activities, games, or other activities that require students to use the language in a way that is similar to real life, engaging, and enjoyable.
No matter what grade level I am teaching, I always aim to teach students in Spanish as much as possible. My number one goal when I'm teaching is to make students feel at ease and make the language comprehensible using gestures, visuals, synonyms and other strategies that let students know what I'm talking about from Day 1. If your student has felt they "can't understand Spanish" in other classes, this may be the one that makes it click!
If you have any questions or would like more information about my classes/teaching style, please feel free to reach out. I hope to see you in class! :)
