Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner Level
Class Experience: This bootcamp is designed for learners seeking a strong foundation in goal-setting, confidence-building, and teamwork—no matter what their next step might be. Whether you’re planning to attend college, enter the workforce, volunteer, manage a household, or pursue any other path, the skills taught here will set you up for success. Across several interactive sessions, I will show students how to set effective goals using proven frameworks like SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound) and WOOP (Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan). We will also explore practical methods to relentlessly execute these goals, turning good intentions into tangible achievements. Each session features engaging lectures, fun group activities, and lively discussions to keep everyone motivated and on track.

What Will Be Taught?

Goal-Setting & Execution: Learn to create powerful goals that fit your personal aspirations—be they academic, career-focused, or personal—and discover strategies for consistent follow-through.

Confidence-Building: Identify your unique strengths and practice techniques that foster genuine self-esteem and resilience in any environment.

Teamwork & Collaboration: Gain insights into effective group work, communication, and leadership—essentials whether you’re heading into a job, a community project, or any kind of team effort.

Topics Covered

SMART Goals: Structuring your ambitions to ensure clarity, measurability, and relevance, whether for work, volunteering, or personal life.

WOOP Framework: Turning wishes into actionable plans by acknowledging potential obstacles and devising proactive strategies.

Action Planning & Consistency: Using accountability trackers, habit-building tips, and routines to execute your goals relentlessly.

Self-Reflection & Confidence: Techniques to monitor your own progress, build confidence, and stay motivated—even when challenges arise.

Communication & Leadership: Practical tools for working well with others, leading projects, and resolving conflicts in any setting.

Class Structure: We meet for weekly sessions of about 60 minutes each, with each session focusing on a specific aspect of goal-setting, confidence, or collaboration. I’ll introduce the topic through slides or a brief talk, then guide learners through hands-on exercises to practice what they’ve learned. Everyone will have the chance to create and refine their own SMART and WOOP goals—and develop action plans—for their specific ambitions. Each session concludes with time for Q&A and personalized feedback.

How Will I Teach?
I use a combination of brief lectures, open discussions, and engaging activities. My slides and visual aids clarify key points, while scenario-based exercises let learners immediately apply the strategies. I may also use short video clips (with permission) to bring real-life success stories or teamwork examples to life.

Teaching Style: My approach is supportive and interactive. I focus on creating a positive space where learners feel comfortable sharing their ambitions, exploring new strategies, and celebrating each other’s progress. By blending structured teaching with hands-on practice, students develop true confidence in their ability to succeed—wherever their path leads.

Learner Interaction: I keep the sessions dynamic by inviting everyone to participate in group brainstorming, role-playing activities, and guided discussions. Students receive individual feedback on their goals and learn how to stay accountable to them. Regular check-ins ensure learners feel both challenged and supported throughout the bootcamp.

Join this bootcamp to master the art of setting powerful goals and learn how to chase them with unwavering commitment. Whether you aim to enter college, start a job, or pursue another calling, these skills will help you navigate your future with confidence and purpose!

Learning Goals

Create a Realistic Goal Using a Proven Framework
In a session, students will learn how to identify a personal objective and apply a goal-setting approach—such as SMART or WOOP—to articulate a clear, actionable plan.
Discover Key Strategy for Consistent Follow-Through
By the end of class, learners will explore at least one practical technique (e.g., habit-building, accountability trackers, or daily action steps) to sustain momentum toward their newly defined goal.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from University of Nevada, Reno
Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from University of Nevada, Reno
I have over five years of experience leading workshops and courses on goal-setting, personal development, and collaboration skills. My background includes working in both traditional classroom settings and after-school programs, where I guided middle and high school students to develop essential life skills—such as effective communication, time management, and teamwork. In these roles, I’ve seen firsthand how teaching practical strategies, like SMART and WOOP goals, helps young people become more confident and engaged in shaping their own futures.

Beyond formal teaching, I’ve also volunteered as a mentor for youth leadership organizations, facilitating small-group sessions and one-on-one coaching. During this time, I learned how to tailor activities to different learning styles and create an inclusive atmosphere that encourages active participation. My overarching goal is to ensure that each learner walks away with tangible, real-world tools they can apply in their daily lives—whether they plan on attending college, entering the workforce, or exploring other pathways.
