US Grade 9 - 12
This is a one time course for students who are interested in one-day coaching sports as either a hobby or a career. I use research form the fields of coaching, leadership, and sport psychology to present information in a slideshow on how to be successful coach. We will discuss qualities of the students favorite coaches and famous coaches from professional and college sports. I will go over the topics of leadership, management, constructive criticism, dealing with parents, showing players you care about them, discipline, fun, etc. We will have discuss quotes from famous coaches. The class will be very interesting and informative. It will give the students a good knowledge base to get a start in the field. It could be the start of a great coaching career! Bye!

Hello, thanks for reading my profile. I have a master's degree in educational psychology with a specialization in sport psychology and a master's degree in school counseling.  I teach classes that help athletes and other performers like musicians improve their performance by learning mental skills. Topics I cover include dealing with performance anxiety, self-talk, goal setting, motivation, concentration, having more fun, and mental imagery. I have worked as a performance consultant with the track teams at Florida State University and Loyola University Chicago. I am a patient and passionate teacher. I enjoy seeing my students learn and improve. I am passionate about helping athletes improve their performance. I make classes engaging by having meaningful discussions, asking my students questions about their lives, and using interesting examples.  My hobbies include traveling, coaching basketball, playing ultimate frisbee and basketball, playing chess, and reading.
