US Grade 2 - 4
Axolotls are amazing amphibians! During this multi-day Cold-Blooded Creature Class we will dive deeper into the live axolotl tank, and discover more about the animals that live inside. This is perfect for any young herpetologist who is interested in caring for an axolotl some day, has one at home, or just thinks they are really CUTE! On day 1 we will meet the Learn-A-Lotl tank team, explore axolotl anatomy, and see the colors they can be. Day 2 will be all about tank design. Learners will follow steps to add filtration, decorations, and more to their own paper tank. Finally, on Day 3 we will do a live water quality testing and learners will help to read the results. Each day will also have special add on activities that can be completed before the next live session. Label an axolotl with only silly answers, cut out paper axolotls to live in your newly designed tank, and color your own water quality test chart with axolotl health emojis. If you are looking for more, you can also enroll in one of our companion classes. Snaxolotl: Live Axolotl Feeding With Snack Time Q&A During these live feeding sessions learners will watch axolotls eat while they enjoy their own tasty treats and ask-alotl-questions. Facts-Olotl: Trivia Game and Live Axolotl Check-In Are you ready to play Facts-Olotl? In this one time class axolotl obsessed learners will test their knowledge, play games, and check in on the live axolotl tank cam.
Learning Goals
Learners will classify axolotls by morph, design an axolotl habitat, participate in a live water quality testing, and help to interpret the results.
