This interactive camp is perfect for young animal lovers eager to explore the biology, life cycle, "superpowers," and conservation of these fascinating amphibians—with live appearances from a real axolotl! Each session includes engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and creative projects to spark curiosity and a love for science! What We’ll Explore Each Day: 🔬 Day 1: Meet the Axolotl! What makes axolotls unique? Fun facts & cool features (external gills, regeneration, and more!) 🎨 Activity: Axolotl Drawing Challenge 🐣 Day 2: Axolotl Life Cycle How do axolotls grow from egg to adult? What makes them different from other amphibians? ✂️ Activity: Life Cycle Wheel 🦎 Day 3: Axolotl Superpowers! How do axolotls regrow limbs and even parts of their brain? How do they survive in the wild? 🎭 Activity: Regeneration Roleplay (comic strip or mini skit) 🌎 Day 4: Axolotls in the Wild & Conservation Where do axolotls live? (Virtual visit to Lake Xochimilco!) Why are they endangered, and how can we help? ✍️ Activity: Axolotl Eco-Hero Poster 🎨 Day 5: Axolotl Creativity & Myth-Busting! Day 1: drawing paper and pencil Day 2: printable lifecycle wheel that will be posted to the classroom, glue stick, crayons, scissors, and a brad (to make the wheel move) Day 3: Drawing paper to create comic strip, pencil, crayons/colored pencils Day 4: drawing paper, crayons, pencil (for a save the axolotl poster they will be making) Day 5: Option 1- Paper to do axolotl origami, Option 2 - clay to create an axolotl model, Option 3- writing paper & pencil to create an axolotl short story
