Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Learners will learn how to insert a background and sprites (characters/objects). Learners will learn how to make sounds play and set the size of objects. Learners will learn how to use color effects Learners will learn how to create and use variables in order to keep score. Learners will learn how to use operators and sensing.
Maidel Fletes is an experienced coding teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering pursuing a Master of Science in Software Engineering from Kennesaw State University with an expected graduation date of May 2024.
Learners will need to be logged in to Scratch prior to the start of class. Prior to class, parents must create an account for students at http://scratch.mit.edu/join. Learners must have a supported browser. SUPPORTED BROWSERS: The online version of Scratch should run on most browsers and operating systems. That being said, the Scratch Team only maintains Scratch to ensure that it runs well on the following browsers: Desktop -Chrome (63+) -Edge (15+) -Firefox (57+) -Safari (11+) -Internet Explorer is NOT supported.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This course directs learners to use Scratch. Learners will need to be logged in to Scratch prior to the start of class. Prior to class parents must create an account for students at http://scratch.mit.edu/join. Parents must agree to the terms and conditions of the Scratch website.
