Canva Basics for Creators: Design Like a Pro!

WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT?
In this course, students will learn how to use Canva, a fun and easy design tool, to create eye-catching graphics, posters, and more! Students will develop basic graphic design skills like working with text, images, and cool design effects. By the end, they'll have designed their own projects, such as a YouTube thumbnail and a fun meme template!

WHAT TOPICS WILL YOU COVER?

🖼️ Canva basics: how to use Canva’s tools and layout
✏️ Designing with text and fonts
📷 Working with images, stickers, and icons
🎨 Layering and adding special effects like transparency and animation
🎬 Creating cool projects like YouTube thumbnails, Instagram stories, meme templates, and posters

HOW IS YOUR CLASS STRUCTURED?
This course is split into 4 live sessions, each 30 minutes long. Each session will focus on a different skill, and students will complete a fun project that uses what they learned in class. Each class is hands-on, so students will design their own projects step by step, following along with the instructor.

HOW WILL YOU TEACH?
I will teach through live demonstrations and fun activities, where students can follow along in Canva on their own devices. After learning new skills, students will have time to work on their projects and get help from me whenever they need it. We’ll also share our designs and talk about what we’ve made!

WHAT'S YOUR TEACHING STYLE?
I focus on making learning fun and creative! My classes are interactive, where students are encouraged to ask questions and try new things. I make sure each student feels comfortable learning at their own pace, and I love seeing the creative ideas they come up with!

HOW MUCH WILL LEARNERS GET TO INTERACT WITH YOU?
Students will interact with me during live demonstrations, ask questions while they work on their projects, and share their designs in class. I’ll provide feedback to help them improve and answer any design questions they have. We’ll also have fun class discussions about design choices!
