Class Experience

Emotions can be big and hard to process. Young children have a hard time understanding and coping with big feelings. They don't have the words or the tools to calm themselves. This multi day class will teach young learners some very easy techniques to help them learn to control their breathing and calm their emotions.

Learners will be guided through three breathing exercises that they can safely and easily use when they feel upset or angry. We will practice these exercises during class until learners are comfortable with them. Parents should be nearby to listen off camera so they can help their learner practice the techniques their student learns in class. Parent support is very important for this class!

Learners should be able to move around, as they will be learning how to do these breathing exercises in different positions (such as lying down or sitting in a chair).

Hello! My name is Deborah. I have been working with children and youth for many years, both as a volunteer and as an online teacher and a classroom teaching assistant. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. 

As a teacher, it is vital that learners feel successful and encouraged! I always use a positive attitude with my students, since that is how I would want to be taught. 

I love to be in the kitchen and I enjoy sharing that passion with my students in our baking classes. I'm a certified Zumba instructor, so I love to have fun dancing in our exercise classes!

I grew up in a big city and settled in a small town with my husband and two kids. I love hiking, running and reading. I would order out for pizza and tacos every night if I could.
