In this one time 60 minute course, students will learn how to build a 3D model using free online software called Sketchup. Skills learned in this calss can be applied to architectural design, interior design, creative design, or carpentry.
Class experience
In this introductory class, students will learn about the 3D modeling program SketchUp. Students will not only get to see how you can create 3D models and what they can be used for, but they will create their own 3D models using free 3D modeling software. Students will learn how to use the free program, SketchUp, to create 3D models on the computer. Students will walk away with a better understanding of how 3D models are created, what they are used for, and exactly how to create their own.

This course will use the third party tool, SketchUp. It is a free online tool for 3D modeling that is accessed using a web browser. It was originally created by Google, and has since been obtained by Trimble .It can be accessed by a PC, Mac, or Chromebook. You will need to create an account in order to use SketchUp. Your student will be able to use this third party tool during class (and after if they so choose.) In order to create the account, you can go to https://app.sketchup.com/ and either sing in with your Google account or your Apple ID or create an account with your email address.
