Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
This 4 session self-paced course provides all four of my popular one-time microbiology classes to students. The material is essentially the same as my live sessions but is tailored to an asynchronous format.

Just like my live classes, we'll start with a warm up question to get us thinking about the topic.

Each week will include a recorded lesson covering similar material to the live version with adjustments for the format. In my recorded video lessons, I will use models, drawings, and explanations to lead students through written work to post in the classroom. Students and I will interact regularly in the classroom. Students will submit photographs of their work and answer 1-2 prompts per week (related to class material and getting-to-know-you).

Each week will also include a link to a book or video to extend the learning and will have a related classroom discussion question.

Learning Needs
This format is ideal for a variety of learning needs and I'm happy to help adjust expectations or resources to work well for your learner.
Parental Guidance
Nothing in this class will be or is intended to be medical advice. This is merely educational in nature and will be a surface-level overview. Your student will not be coming out of this class knowing anything about how to diagnose or treat these conditions and we will not be discussing any personal medical questions/needs. Students should come with general questions about the topic.
Supply List
Students should have paper and writing/drawing supplies (colored pencils, pens, or fine tip markers) for each session.
I will recommend the book Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio by Peg Kehret but it is not required or discussed in class
