Students will learn about three different types of insects in their own backyard. First, we will learn about the Lady Bug, then the Bee and finally the beautiful Butterfly. Once we learn about these fabulous insects, their habitat, diet and contribution to the ecosystem, we will learn to draw each insect step-by-step. Once our insect drawings are complete, we will focus on coloring them while discussing conservation efforts and ways we can see these wonderful insects close up, in our own back yard.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about each insect in a short presentation while focusing on conservation efforts. The second half of the class students will learn to draw and color each of these insects.
