30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing class students will learn to draw a different cartoon animal each week using a variety of techniques and methods. Using pencils, pens, markers and pencil crayons learners will develop new skills and appreciation for the animals we will draw. Each drawing will be done step-by-step and is guided with the instructor with techniques and methods explained. We will learn about adding character to each of our animals and continue an ongoing comic book story throughout our drawings from week to week. Once our drawings are complete, students will be encouraged to color or paint their drawings and show their finished work to the class. Students will be encouraged to share their work on the classroom page or in a future class if they are not completed. Themes will be developed around holidays and other events where students can take their finished work and make, for example, a Christmas Card. Each drawing is learner-directed and is different each week. If an animal, for example, a cat is chosen and is repeated, we will draw the cartoon cat in a totally different way.
