In this engaging one-week course we will be Welcoming Spring by talking about all those little creepy crawly bugs. We will sing a song or two, read the story Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! and discuss the book. During the story the students will make predictions about which bug will be on the next page. We will talk about where the bugs live, what they look like and what our favorite ones are. We will then draw our favorite bugs and then share it with the class. As they share their picture they can tell...
• The student will practice their listening skills throughout the story. • The student will practice socials skills such as taking turns, listening to peers and being a good friend. • The student will work on their prediction skills throughout the story. • The student will work on fine motor skills by drawing their favorite bug from the story. • The student will work on their communication skills by answering questions and participating in the discussion.
I am a certified teacher with 20 plus years in early childhood education. My teacher Certification had reading endorsements attached to it because I have had extra training in reading and phonics. My love of reading has influenced my teaching because I incorporate reading in all aspects of my teaching. I bring the books or stories alive through my excitement. *Please remember that only the enrolled student may attend and participate according to Outschool’s Policy.
