If your child is interested in learning the Latin language, but not sure they want to take a class, then the Bitesize Latin series is perfect to try it out and see if they're interested. Each bitesize lesson is thirty minutes long, and students will cover a wide variety of topics, including family, friends, food, hobbies, and more. In this bitesize lesson the students will learn to ask and answer the following questions in the Latin language: What's your name? How are you? How old are you? Where are you from? These classes are standalone, and the order in which you take them is not important. Each standalone class will introduce new vocabulary, new sentence frames, and new grammar. I have studied Latin for almost 20 years, and I have over 7 years of experience in teaching Latin. I take a relaxed and conversational approach to each lesson in order to foster participation, conversation, and enthusiasm in the classroom. I hope to see you in my classroom soon! Valete (good-bye)!

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Benedict Atchley, and I have been an online teacher for the last eight years, teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) courses and Latin language courses. I'm a language and history enthusiast, and I love to share my passion for learning languages with others. My true passion is all things Latin and ancient Roman to late Renaissance history. I have been studying, reading, and writing Latin for more than fifteen years, every moment of which I have loved. I especially enjoy teaching the Latin language and history, and have been doing so quite successfully for over five years.
I use a structured, but relaxed teaching style, which allows ample time for questions and in-class practice. I enjoy building a rapport with students who have a shared enthusiasm for learning history and languages, especially Latin.
I got into learning Latin in my freshman year of high school as it was one of the languages offered. My were choices between Spanish and Latin, and because I like ancient Roman history, the choice seemed clear. As chance would have it, and quite ironically, I ended up marrying a beautiful woman from Mexico city. Still, I have no regrets over my choice in languages, seeing as I've become somewhat proficient in Spanish, and much to my wife's pleasure well on my way to fluency. Now, I have two daughters, one who speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and who has recently expressed in interest in learning Italian, all this at only six years old!
I can't wait to see you in my classroom, and I'm excited to see others interested in learning the subjects I'm most passionate about!
