Class Experience
🚀 Kickstart Your Child’s Coding Adventure with Botley the Robot! 🚀 Is your little one ready for their first dive into the world of coding? In this one-time class, children aged 4-9 will be introduced to programming through the playful and interactive Botley the robot, one on one with me their teacher! 🌟 What They’ll Learn: • The fundamentals of coding—how to give Botley instructions to reach his goal. • The importance of sequencing with commands like Left, Right, Forward, and Backward. • Hands-on practice with coding challenges that grow in complexity. • Thinking ahead and problem-solving—essential skills for future innovators! 📚 No Robot? No Problem! Your child doesn’t need prior coding experience, special materials, or a Botley robot to join! The class welcomes beginners and those who already have their own Botley at home. 💡 A Sneak Peek into My Weekly Coding Classes: This session offers a taste of my ongoing weekly classes, designed for kids ages 4-9, plus personalized 1-on-1 lessons—all at a pace that suits your child. Whether homeschooled or traditionally schooled, this is a fantastic STEM enrichment opportunity! 🎉 Beyond the Basics: Once your child gets the hang of programming, they can explore fun coding challenges like: 🕺 Dancing Botley ⚽ Robot Soccer 🌀 Navigating Mazes 🔁 Mastering Loops 🏗️ Creative Construction Botley is programmed similarly to Beebot, a tool used in many schools, meaning your child can build on their existing tech skills while having a blast! Ready to spark their love for coding? Let’s get started! If you like the class I do a 10 and 4 weekly class to continue the fun and learning or you can keep signing up to this class and we will continue the Missions!
Learning Goals
By the end of the session, your child will be able to understand that an algorithm is a set of instructions, program a toy by inputting a sequence of commands/codes, and predict how different sequences lead to different outcomes.
