Class Experience

Each session is full of projects based on Passion, Collaboration with Peers, and in a Playful Spirit. It is full of hands-on Memorable, Meaningful, and Motivating activities, specially designed for girls and boys, 7-9 years old.

This class is a discovery class where passion for learning, creating, and collaborating are required on each student. The discovery process requires the use of a physical robotics platform at home. We recommend mBot from MakeBlock.

In this online live course, each student will:

- Participate in a class with other children his/her age group (10 - 12) discovering how robotics engineering is a part of their everyday life.
- Enjoy four hours of personalized project-based instruction and interest-based projects.
- Learn to design, build, create models that will require an engineer's eye using a robotics platform designed for children.
- Collaborate with small groups (6 students maximum per session) with one adult certified live instructor.

Syllabus/Topics covered:

Week 1 (Intro to Robotics Platform)
- Robotics
- Hardware: Put your robot together
- Software: Control the robot to make sounds/ show colorful light

Week 2 (Robots & Coding Platform )
- Robots

Learning Goals
Robotics is a growing field in our world that is constantly changing and advancing in technology.

In this course, you will get to experience first hand what it is like to be a Robotics Engineer.

You will have the opportunity to build and program your own robot through various obstacles and challenges presented throughout the class.

For this course, students will be programming and building the mBot from MakeBlock. Students are using it to learn to program, create their own projects and share their creations.

Students will learn that being a Robotics Engineer starts with understanding the parts of a robot and continues into building and programming robots to complete tasks. With the guide of an instructor, students will learn that they too can be Robotics Engineers, if they are willing to just try.
