In this one time class students will learn about past and present Mars Rover Explorations on the rocky planet, and how they will help make it possible for humans to live there one day.

Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
This class will help students learn how robots are used on Mars for current research. We will discuss the different Rover Explorations of the planet, and how to see real time images sent back to NASA on these missions. The class will be structured on Zoom while I present in Keynote to help enhance each students understanding. I will incorporate different interactive questions and answers, also we will conclude with some Trivia games on the lessons content. Topics to be presented are the following,

1. Sojourner Rover
2. Spirit Rover
3. Opportunity Rover
4. Curiosity Rover
5. Perseverance Rover
6. Ingenuity Helicopter

These topics will help students understand of how future generations will make it possible to live on Mars, and how these Robotic devices help scientists with the exploration of the planet.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about how each Mars Rover operates. Also a good understanding of the launch and landings of each Rover and interactive videos will help students have a good concept of the Mars Rovers.

Hi, my name is Mrs. Gina, and I am a dedicated teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching Science and Technology courses for elementary and high school students. I also taught highly gifted students at UCLA summer programs, where I focused on STEM classes mainly on coding for ages 10-15 years old. Currently I am teaching STEM courses in Astronomy at Outschool.

I am a certified STEM educator provided by the Texas State NASA program. This includes Learning Pathways to the Moon, Artemis Return and Recovery, Explore the Moon for the Artemis Generation, and NASA Explore The Solar System and Beyond (The Lucy Mission). Currently I serve as a NASA Climate Change Research Initiative Education Ambassador to help bring data into my curriculum.  All of these certifications by NASA have added to my knowledge and expertise in teaching STEM courses.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree and a Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction, which have helped me develop skills in designing effective lesson plans, assessments, and incorporating the latest technological advancements in the classroom.

Currently, I reside in Los Angeles, California where I continue to teach and inspire students to pursue their passions in technology and STEM. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, traveling, and stargazing on clear nights, which helps me gain inspiration and perspective to bring back into the classroom.

I am committed to providing my students with engaging and challenging learning experiences that foster their curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills, and prepare them for success in their future endeavors.
