Class Experience
In this ongoing class/club, "Explore the NASA Space Image of the Day," your learners will explore their curiosity about space and participate in discussion about NASA's Space Image of the Day and NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day. This class is based on the images that NASA posts for that day. This means the topic for each meeting will change, but the format is the same. This class is taught in English.
Learners will learn about space and the history of how we've come to understand it. They will learn about planets, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, the sun, Earth, gases, elements, the International Space Station, telescopes, and everything else that relates to the NASA Image of the Day and Astronomy Picture of the Day.
No homework will be assigned.
OPTIONAL: Learners are welcome to bring materials for writing/drawing/coloring. These will be used for our drawing activities, where we draw/color the image of the day!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will not be an assessment.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will refer to NASA's Image of the Day and NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day via nasa.gov. Learners will not need to access the website themselves unless they choose to do so.
