In this five day art course, students will learn about world-famous artists: Matisse, Van Gogh, Monet, Cassatt, and Hokusai! Each day we will talk about one artist and their art style (Impressionism, Fauvism, and Ukiyo pictures). We will look at the artist's most famous paintings. There will be a short lesson on each artist and slides will be used as visuals. After that, students will be guided to create their own artwork inspired by the artist. My teaching style is patient and encouraging. Students will be able to interact with the teacher and ask questions. Students will also be able to interact with the other students as we make our creations. Students will discuss each artist with the teacher and the other students. Students will be encouraged to share their artwork with the class. No prior art knowledge is needed for this class. Day 1-Monet-Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge Day 2- Van Gogh-The Starry Night Day 3-Matisse-Goldfish Day 4-Cassatt-Lilacs in a Window Day 5-Hokusai-The Great Wave off Kanagawa Students may need some time outside of class to finish their art projects. Note: Please see the supply list below My main principle - there are no mistakes in art only happy accidents. Everyone, even the smallest artist, has their own path.
