*This is a FLEX class which means NO live meetings.* In this class, we will travel around the world. The students will be able to learn about different continents and oceans. We will learn basic facts about each country; what famous landmarks are, what the land is like, what animals you may see, what countries are on the continent... Students will have learn about the continents and oceans. They will also be introduced to the concept of reading and creating maps. This course will incorporate Social Studies and Reading Comprehension skills.
I love history and geography. I find other cultures and places fascinating. I love that every place has a story to tell. This course is a fun way to introduce our world to your students. I also have a minor in history and have worked in the Elementary school setting for several years.
Homework Offered
Students will need to read from their Travel Guide (1 page per continent) and fill out their Travel Journal. They are also encouraged to practice labeling the continents and oceans. There will be a small project that each student is expected to complete and share with the class on the last day.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
