US Grade 7 - 10
In this semester long class we will learn about the different Presidents of the United States and briefly talk about some of the history surrounding their time of leadership. The class will be divided into 11 units: each covering an important Era of United States History Material: * Short videos about each president * Reading on historical time periods * Social Studies skills: Timelines, notecards and reflections * Each week will also have activities for students to assess their understanding and reflect on information
Learning Goals
Students will become familiarized with the Presidents of the United States: who they are, when they served, and some of their goals and accomplishments.
Students will be introduced to the some of the basic eras of United States history and important events.

Parental Guidance
We will be talking about American History. There are several time periods where students will need to read or listen about disturbing occurrences such as the abuse that happened to Native Americans or African American.
Supply List
Students will need: *3x5 note cards *scissors *glue *pen or pencil *printed photos that will be provided by the teacher There will also be worksheets and activities provided each week for the students to print and do each week. Students will also need the ability to read attached articles and watch videos that give the summary of US history.

My minor in college was History and Social Studies. My masters thesis project was to create a class using a variety of sources. I chose a History course (World War II). I have extensive self study in the area and strive to find different view points on information. I am also working on my teaching endorsement in Social Studies (currently I just need to take the praxis).
