Reading: Boost your students reading! Tutoring sessions will meet for 30 minutes a class, I suggest 2 to 3 times a week, but up to 5. The first day or two will be used to gain an understanding of where the students reading level is. Each day will consist of reading, vowel study and word study. Reading: We will read from a book that is just above the students current level, working on fluency and accuracy as we read. Vowel Study: We will practice the basic vowel formations in words to...
To ensure effective tutoring, the teacher suggests meeting 3x per week. Book additional recurring meetings after the initial purchase.- Students will improve their reading. They will improve decoding skills, sight word recognition, fluency and comprehension.
- Students will improve their ELA skills which include: reading, comprehension, grammar, writing and more.
- Students will improve their math skills by focusing on building the foundations and adding concepts as they are ready.
I have worked a year as a reading aide in a public elementary school. My job was to help those who were reading below grade level improve their reading skills and confidence. I have been private tutoring with great results since 2020 and during the school year help with reading intervention through the schools. I am certified in the Science of Reading curriculum and have been trained on UURC methods. I have also spent the last year teaching Elementary ELA and math classes online

Students will need paper. Students will need sight words (I will link to free pintables) to practice at home. Students will also need access to books to read on their own.

We will use a variety of online tools including Khan Academy, Learning A-Z and IXL. Reading A-Z has a wide variety of topics and has done a great job about being culturally inclusive. Depending on the subject I may use ABCya for games to enhance what we have learned and we may watch educational youtube videos. All of this will be shared on screen during class time using my own accounts. If you want your students to have access so they can practice on their own time then you will have to obtain your own accounts- but this is not required.
We will use a variety of online books. Most will be from Learning A-Z. We will use IXL
