This is a one-time lesson about butterflies. We will learn about its life cycle, habitat, and other interesting facts. We will learn through stories and videos. Our class will begin with the story, then move to the video, and finish with a related bug craft. We will ask and answer questions related to butterflies and caterpillers. I like to know what kind of butterflies the students have where they live. I like to use PowerPoint to show the stories and videos. We will work together on the craft.

Teacher expertise and credentials
HI! My name is Michelle and I love teaching!! I currently teach with VIPKid, teaching English to students in China ages 3 to 15. I absolutely love it!! I also taught a variety of after school classes at my son's elementary school for 6 years. I taught cooking, Reader's Theater, Geocaching, and Yearbook. I was a merit badge counselor for my son's Boy Scout troop and helped him earn his Eagle Badge. I have several degrees, BA in Small Business, BA in Marketing, and a degree in Pastry Arts. I am also a licensed EMT and work as a medic in the film industry. I have worked as a medic for the last 10 years and love it!
As a teacher, I believe that learning should be fun! Students learn better when they enjoy what they are doing. I also believe that students should be allowed to make mistakes. It is when we correct our mistakes that we learn our lessons. I like students to be inquisitive and excited to be in class because that is when the real magic happens!
At my house, we have 5 cats and 1 dog. We also often have horses, chickens, cows, and rabbits wandering in our neighborhood. It is not uncommon to see a variety of animals that do not belong to us hanging out in our front yard. In October, every year, my city of Albuquerque, has the International Balloon Fiesta - the most photographed event in the world. It is a beautiful time of the year and I hope to have a class on it!
I cannot wait to see you in my classroom!
