Algebra Equations: The Easy Way - Level 2

This is continued from level 1.  In level 2, learners will continue to use the manipulatives to solve algebra equations. This class takes equations and makes them visual and hands-on.  The learner will learn the rules related to Algebra by moving the pieces around to find the solution for the variables. 
Week 1 Lesson 8: The white pawn is introduced.
Week 2 Lesson 9:  The learner will learn that the white pawn is the opposite of the blue pawn.  
Week 3 Lesson 10:  The learner will remove a "pair of opposites" or a "zero value" from one side.  
Weeks 4 and 5 Lessons 11 and 12:  The learner will learn different ways to have a number by itself on one side of the equation to solve the equation.
Week 6 Lesson 13:  The learner will begin with number cubes on both sides of the equation and learn to remove them so that it is only on one side of the equation.  
Week 7 Lesson 14:  The learner will add a convenient zero which helps to solve the equation. 
Week 8 Lesson 15:  The learner will learn that the white pawn is actually written -x.  
Week 9 Lesson 16:  The learner will transfer their hands-on learning with the manipulative pieces to a pictorial notation using paper and pencil.  
The algebraic concepts learned to this point are:
The Subtraction Property of Equality
The Addition Property of Equality
The Property of Additive Inverses
The Additive Identity Property.
The names of these properties are not used in teaching but may be discussed at the end.
