The program Hands-On Equations® teaches students how to solve Algebra equations using manipulatives. This is the second part of a three-part algebra class. Your learner will be saying how easy it is to do algebra.
Class experience
This is continued from level 1. In level 2, learners will continue to use the manipulatives to solve algebra equations. This class takes equations and makes them visual and hands-on. The learner will learn the rules related to Algebra by moving the pieces around to find the solution for the variables. Week 1 Lesson 8: The white pawn is introduced. The goal is to improve math ability and confidence by being able to set up and solve algebra equations.
I have taught this program to 4th and 5th-grade students in the past. The students would go home and teach older siblings and parents that were trying to master algebra in the traditional way.
Hands-On Equations Student Kit [K-1000] is available online at www.borenson.com. for $5.00, It is also available through Amazon but for a higher price. This kit is good for all three levels.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
