Algebra I is the foundation for all other math courses you can take and future science, computer science, or business courses. Algebra is a cumulative subject, which means that each new concept builds on the last one. Algebra is about finding patterns and then working with patterns with symbols, tables, graphs, and words. Modeling and problem solving are at the heart of the curriculum. In Algebra 1 you will also practice explaining your reasoning in writing and in front of your classmates. Students will spend a great deal of class time working in pairs and/or groups to share ideas, defend their work, and constructively critique the work of others. Frequent mistakes are expected, and in many instances, necessary, to help students further explore concepts and deepen their understanding. We will be utilizing powerpoint, and google classroom where I will provide all the material for them. Including worksheets, check in problems to check our knowledge. Unit two is about systems of linear equations and Inequalities. Week 1: Evaluating functions and Inputs and outputs of a function Week 2: Functions and equations and Interpreting function notation Week 3: Introduction to the domain and range of a function Week 4: Determining the domain of a function Week 5: Recognizing functions
