1 hour per week. Homework will be assigned, but it will only be one page about what we learned in class for the day. Homework should take about 30-45 minutes a week. Their final project will be introduced at the start of this semester class and be turned in on our last class.Assessment

Welcome to 5th grade Fractions! In this 8 week course, we will talk all about fractions as well as mixed numbers. We will perform a fraction review before we build are fraction knowledge. This class will always start with a quick powerpoint about what we will be learning in class, then we will go over some examples together or work on a worksheet. We will also be watching videos throughout the weeks about fractions as well as playing games. We will also be using visual models to understand fractions. Students will be interacting with peers and teacher for every class period whether it be a game or a discussion or working on a worksheet together. At the end of this class students will complete a fraction based project. Students will have all semester to work on this project. Basic knowledge of fractions is required.
Learning Goals
I can use multiplication and division to make equivalent fractions.I can convert mixed numbers to improper fractions, and convert improper fractions to mixed numbers.Syllabus

I will supply curriculum and the materials that students will need! These can be printed at home if they wish but it will all be done on google docs! Students will just need a writing utensil and paper for this class!
