In this one-time class we will learn to solve equations where the variable (x) is on both sides of the equal sign. We will start by solving basic equations where the variable is on both sides. We will then advance into more complicated equations that involve using the distributive property and combining like terms. Students will learn to solve equations with the variable on both sides of the equal sign. Students will use the distributive property to multiply. Students will combine like terms to simplify parts of the equations. Students will learn to identify solution and infinitely many solution cases when solving equations.
I am a licensed secondary math teacher with six years of classroom experience. I also hold experience teaching Algebra 1 standardized tests in which my students performed well on a state level and showed growth from previous grade levels.
