This is a beginner's friendly overview course. In this class, we will look into some common tools of Adobe Photoshop (2023) and understand the user interface. By the end of class, students will be able to edit a picture using some of those tools. The class will have demonstrations and guided practice. There will be a PowerPoint presentation included as well. For a more hands-on experience, learners will have the opportunity to screenshare during class. Students will be able to interact with both the teacher and with each other. Throughout the class, I will explain and demonstrate some common tools, such as: Select Lasso Layers Crop Move Eyedropper and more We will also talk about unique features such as manipulating the background, editing certain parts of the picture, expanding and shrinking the image, choosing the right canvas size, saving the image, etc. Adobe Photoshop also includes different types of tutorials within the software, therefore for further learning, we will discuss how to access that library for additional practice. Once enrolled, students will be provided a file to work with during class and by the end of the class show off their work. However, I will not provide the Adobe Photoshop software. Students would need to obtain their own subscription of Adobe Photoshop (2023) for this class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the user interface of Adobe Photoshop and how to use a number of common application tools to manipulate and change a photo.
