This 4-week academic boot camp is for students who already took Pre-Algebra and need a refresher. This camp welcomes students who want a head start in their upcoming math classes, as well. Let's fight the "summer slump" together!

Intermediate Level
Welcome to the Pre-Algebra Boot Camp course. This course will be an accelerated review of Pre-Algebra principles that will help prepare learners to take their upcoming Algebra I class. We will practice a large number of different types of math problems to solidify the skills students have already learned. Students who wanted a head start for their upcoming Pre-Algebra class are welcome to enroll. The class will use a PowerPoint presentation, with discussion and many practice problems. I will model first, then we collaborate together as a class and then students will have opportunity to for independent practice. There will be interactive activities done through the four weeks.

Students will solidify their understanding of mathematical concepts such as order of operations, fractions, percents, ratios, word problems and more.

Basic Operations

Lesson 2:
Fractions
In this lesson, we will set a foundation. We will practice the proper way to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Decimals, Percents, and Ratios
In this lesson, we will apply our fundamental understanding of fractions from the previous lesson to the basic arithmetic operations. We may practice using basic calculators for some fractional problems 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Exponents
In this lesson, we will introduce exponents, which are a way to represent repeated multiplication. We will look into different methods of solving them. 45 mins online live lesson
