Class Experience
Hi! Cześć! Did you know that speaking another language is one of the coolest skills to have and that Polish is the second most spoken language in the UK. To help my students out I have created this kids’ guide to help them learn Polish! Learn some of the most used words and phrases including greetings, self introductions, alphabet, numbers, where are you from and loads more and this is all possible to learn. I grew up in a bilingual home where Polish and English were spoken freely, I can read, speak and write fluently, and in addition I speak, read and write Spanish. So, languages are very natural to me and I can't wait to share this passion with my students. So whether you want to say good morning – dzień dobry – or ask for a tasty pastry – drożdżówka – you’ll be able to hear exactly how it should be pronounced and written. The FIRST flex class lesson will be based on basic but extensive ways to identify things found in a classroom using Polish phrases and words. It will be taught by providing a pre-recorded video lesson and an assigned assignment that they will complete and share their knowledge learned with the other students. There assignment will be using the Outschool recording feature to make a video or written list of things in their backpack using the vocabulary words and phrases. A worksheet will be provided for this class and posted in the classroom as a link for them to print off and have as a work copy. The Outschool classroom is used during this flex class. Classroom assignments (postings) will be made each Sunday by 12:00 p.m. (EST). I will check the assignments and correct them, always provide detailed corrections and feedback on pronunciation, writing and progress to each student. In this flex class, students will participate regularly and interact with one another by using the classroom feature to post assignments in Polish, and playing games such as broken telephone, bingo in Polish or even quizzes and scavenger hunts along with Kahoot. The SECOND flex class lesson will be based on learning basic but extensive words to talk about classrooms and different rooms in the school using Polish words and phrases. It will be taught by providing a pre-recorded video lesson and to assign their homework for the week. Through the Outschool recording feature they will make a video or can choose to write, listing rooms and classrooms found in their school using the vocabulary and phrases they have learned. An interactive classroom based guess the riddle will be published for students to guess correctly. A worksheet will be provided for this class and posted in the classroom as a link for them to print off and have as a work copy. The THIRD flex class lesson will be based on learning the Polish words that go with the family tree, relatives and family members. They will learn adjectives to describe family members or friends, a worksheet will be provided for this class and posted in the classroom as a link for them to print off and have as a work copy. It will be taught by providing a pre-recorded video lesson and to assign their homework for the week. Their assignment will be done through the Outschool recording feature describing a friend or family member using the adjectives learned in Polish along with a family tree presentation of their own immediate family. Another great way to share their homework will be writing their answers in the classroom or even drawing a picture of their family tree and uploading it. In the FOURTH flex class, students will be learning to express their interests and what they would like to be when they grow up . A worksheet for this class will be posted in the classroom as a link for them to print off and have as a work copy. It will be taught by providing a pre recorded lesson video. Their assignment will be done through the Outschool recording feature telling me their interests, what they would like to be when they are grown up all in Polish, using the phrase format as learned in the lesson. In this last flex class students will also participate in a quiz where their knowledge will be tested and answers submitted to the classroom for me to correct. I will be offering a compilation of fun and interactive flex lessons to learn Polish words and phrases. These fun classes will all be NO live meetings, the material will be posted weekly and you can view it during the week at your convenience. Students are to submit their assignments for review. Each 4 weeks students will be guided through a variety of vocabulary videos designed by me that have been pre recorded. Homework will be a combination of written and video assignments using Outschool classroom. There is no required experience or knowledge, I only ask that they have the desire to learn and have lots of fun. Dowidzenia, see you soon! Week 1 - Co to jest? ( What is this?) Week 2 - Poznaj moja szkole ( Come and see my school) Week 3 -Ja i moja rodzina (Me and my family) Week 4 - Kim jestes? Kim chcesz zostac? Czym sie interesujesz? (What are you? What do you want to be? What are your interests?)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am so excited to be your student's teacher. I hold a TESOL and TEFL Certificate, I have been teaching ESL for way over 10 years to both children and adults and online since 2015. I have taught thousands of classes to young Chinese students and I have tutored English. I am a patient, hands-on teacher and love demonstrating concepts for my students, if a difficult situation arises I will look for a way to make sure the student leaves understanding and satisfied.
I grew up in a bilingual home here in Canada and we spoke both Polish and English growing up and over the years added Spanish. Learning multiple languages is a great tool for world travelers, and it is a fantastic tool to stimulate your brain. I love languages and cannot wait to share this passion with you!
This class will be conducted in English, students are encouraged to speak slowly and clearly so that everyone can follow along. Because this class is based on learning a new language, students are required to have a working camera and microphone.
Along with Polish 101 classes I plan on teaching culture, travel, food, art, Spanish 101, conversational English classes and lots more... I am a fun and energetic teacher and love bringing my energy into the classroom. I think it is so important for students to enjoy the learning process. That is why I am looking forward to seeing you in my classroom!
