The application essay.

You knew it was coming. Your child new it was coming. Yet somehow it came so much faster than anticipated. The deadline is looming and it all feels so very overwhelming. 

Perhaps you're looking at your child's essay. You know this essay has a lot of potential, and you also know the few tweaks to their essay that will really make it stand out. But they're not interested in what you have to say. You need someone else to hand this over to.

Students will move forward in the application essay process. Depending on the number of sessions and desired focus, they might develop a plan for writing, write a rough draft, hone their personal voice, or revise and edit their essay.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English, and held a Professional Teaching Certificate in Florida to teach English in grades 6-12.  For the past several years I have been tutoring students in writing, in-person and online, including Common App, ISEE, state Governor's School, and other application essays.

Homework Offered
Students will need to work on their essays outside of time together, but the amount of time is determined by the individual student as well as application / essay deadlines.

Students should have the application / essay prompt(s) for the first session, as well as be prepared to take notes, whether that's by hand or on a device.
