Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
*Class meets once a week or 4x times in 1 week*. Students will brainstorm, write and polish personal statements for college applications and/or scholarships. I provide lots of 1-on-1 feedback, guidance and support and our final outcomes are unique and powerful essays that give students an edge over other candidates.

I’ve worked as a college admissions counsellor and taught this bootcamp for 13 years with a track record of outstanding results, including over $1 million in scholarships awarded and a 100% college acceptance rate.

The essays are one of the most important parts of the application. I help your child find their unique voice and write a powerful and moving personal statement / essays that makes an admissions impact. We draft, write, refine, polish - together we produce essays that admissions and scholarship committees world over will love. In addition to common app personal statements, we will also work on supplemental and short answer questions.

This is my essay bootcamp - I also have a college applications bootcamp which covers all aspects of the college application.

Class 1 - 2: The elements of a strong personal statement. How to pick a topic that will bring out the best of you. Students select their topics and start working on a first draft. 1-on-1 feedback from me.
Successful college and scholarship essay samples (of students admitted to Harvard, Stanford, UCs, Oxford, UPenn, NYU). Building a comprehensive and balanced college list. How to identify schools that match your interests.

Class 3: Writing strategies that shape your unique voice
Students work 1-on-1 with me on their drafts

Class 4: How to structure and organize your work. Students work 1-on-1 with me on their essays. We are now at the editing and polishing stage.
