6th Grade Math Review and Games!

Students will meet 9 times to review 6th grade math topics with a mini lesson, a few practice problems and games! This will be great introduction for rising 6th graders and an amazing review for rising 7th graders!

Description

Class Experience

In this class students will review topics typically taught in 6th grade math. Each lesson will include word problems. We will begin with a short mini lesson followed by practice problems. Students will be encouraged to share their math thinking with the group! Next we will practice each topic with a game! Games may include the interactive white board, game sites like Kahoot, “Battleship”, Jeopardy, mystery pictures, and playing cards! 

Meeting 1: Greatest common factor and least common...

Students will review many topics learned during their 6th grade year.

Paper, pencil, graph paper, game cards, a second device may be needed for a couple classes when playing kahoot!

I will assess students throughout class. I will message parents once per week to update them on their child’s learning.

2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Students should be currently taking or have taken a 6th grade math course before taking this review class!
