Students will learn the fundamentals of traditional Chinese brush ink painting, its principles, techniques, subject matters and styles. Xieyi (freehand) style will be demonstrated. Themes covered include landscapes, birds-and-flowers, fish, and others. Students are trained to master brushstrokes and taught the skills of capturing the essence of forms.

Classes are highly interactive and students will have the opportunity to socialize and share their ideas in a fun and upbeat environment.
This class is suitable for beginners with no prior skills. Part 1 starts at the foundation level where students build their knowledge and skills to progress to Part 2 and Part 3.
