This is the ultimate student selected class experience! Does your child have a specific topic they are obsessed with or curious about? Are they struggling in a certain area in school? This private class will allow the learner (or parent) to request specific topics to learn during the class time. This can be used for tutoring, test prep, assessment, or a specifically designed, personalized lesson, tailored to the interest, needs and learning style of the child. 

For example, if a family would like a science class about 5th grade weather, they will email the teacher prior to the class. The teacher will then design a special lesson for the learner, incorporating grade-level concepts, vocabulary, and targeted, thought provoking discussion questions. The following academic subject areas are available (math, science, language arts, art, geography, social studies, or health) and can be created into individualized lessons based on student interest and their current background knowledge level.  (Sorry, I cannot teach programming.) Classes can be designed in any format you desire: game-based, lecture, STEM or STEAM based, test prep, or hands-on formats. For example, does your child learn best with games? Maybe taking notes, making a project, using hands-on manipulative or modeling is best? Each class can be designed to fit those needs. This class can additionally be used as an assessment for parents needing a professional overview of their child's ability or understanding in certain content areas. Typically a class will incorporate vocabulary, some kind of direct instruction on the topic, and a learning activity or project, unless it is being used as an assessment.  Parents and students truly customize their experience based on their own individual needs.  A brief survey will be provided for parents upon enrollment which will help communicate all these requests with the teacher.

Please note:  ***** I must know the topic and subject a minimum of 1 day PRIOR to the scheduled class time. Without this information, the class cannot take place, and will be canceled WITHOUT REFUND. I cannot come up with a  lesson on the spot during the scheduled meeting. *******
