Preparing to do well on any AP exam includes two steps. 1. Deep and careful study in a high-quality AP course (teacher led or independent study). 2. Exposure and practice in the AP exam environment. This course focuses on preparing for the exam by practicing multi-choice, short answer questions, document based questions, and exam day validation questions. As African American Studies is a new AP course, teachers have very limited materials such as previous exams or the additional materials that are made available over time. In this course we anticipate and create questions and expand upon the materials provided. We also spend time familiarizing with the Bluebook digital testing platform.

Parental Guidance
This course is attached to the AP African American Studies course. Students are exposed to college-level materials, text books and topics in the course and these topics may also appear during test prep.
Pre-Requisites
This class is for students planning to take the AP African American Studies exam in May. All students should have taken the course or be currently enrolled.

In addition to my education- my undergraduate (History- Hampton University) and graduate (U.S. History- Southern Methodist University) and my classroom experience (teaching college lower-division level African-American History) I also bring a wealth of interdisciplinary study and experiences to this space.
