US Grade 2 - 8

Beginner - Advanced Level

I am certified to teach Kindergarten to 8th grade. Students will be taught with the English Language Arts state released end of the year study guides. Also, I use a program that pin points students' weak areas, so we can strengthen them before test time. You need to start as soon as possible. I have access to a program for every state. By practicing the skills, format, and question types, students will become comfortable and confident by testing time.  The one-on-one positive guidance and feedback will prepare students to be ready for the test. Students need to be familiar with each type of question. The topics include  DESCRIPTION OF TEST FORMAT AND ORGANIZATION, ITEM TYPES, DEPTH OF KNOWLEDGE EXAMPLE ITEMS, CONTENT DESCRIPTION AND ADDITIONAL SAMPLE ITEMS, ADDITIONAL SAMPLE ITEM KEYS, EXAMPLE SCORING RUBRICS, EXEMPLAR RESPONSES, WRITING RUBRICS, AND SO MUCH MORE.

Learning Goals

Students will learn the format and practice the question types for the Reading/ELA/Writing end of the year state mandated tests. Furthermore, we will strengthen weak skill areas in order to increase test scores.

Learning Needs

I have taught Inclusion (students with various learning styles) for 27 years. I will utilize programs and instruction based on your child's unique needs.

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Sources

We will use released study guides from the State Department of Education in which you live. I have access to a program that allows students to practice for any state test.

As an educator with a Master's Degree and 27 years experience specializing in Reading, ELA, Remediation, and Test Prep,  I know what students need to study and to practice for these tests., as well as how to be successful in school. Also, I promote confidence building in students by encouraging them, so they will not be stressed out for those tests.
