This is class is designed as a individualized class for students who need extra encouragement in their reading or math. This class will be tailored to meet the student where they are currently functioning and give them extra help in developing their skills. Students will be assessed in the first lesson to see where their greatest needs are. Teacher and parent will discuss progress at the end of each group of 8 lessons to decide if goals are being met and discuss with them whether of not...
Goals will be individually discussed with each parent, based on the needs of their learner.
I have taught reading/math in a variety of settings and before COVID had been working with students in the public school system as an intervention tutor.
wipe-off boards/marker/eraser should be available at every class paper/pencil could also be used if wipe-off board is not available Other materials may be needed on an individual basis. Parent will be told if they need to purchase the Wordly Wise book.
Student will be an informal assessment at the end of each 8 class tutoring session at which time parents can decide whether they want to continue this class or not.
30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Teacher made materials k5learning leveled stories according to each student's level. IF this resource is used, specific directions will be given to parent in the first class. Wordly Wise will be used on occasion depending on the needs of the student. IF this resource is used, Parents will be required to purchase a copy for their student to do the related exercises. Class time will be spent reading and responding to the passage given in each lesson. Information will be given to parent about how to order this book if student is going to be using it.
