Math Instruction Tailored to Your Student

Math can be challenging, but this class is designed to meet your student’s individual needs, whether they’re filling in gaps, learning new concepts, or practicing what they've already learned. The ultimate goal is for your student to build confidence in their math skills and feel more comfortable navigating math challenges.

We can cover a wide range of elementary math skills, including:

*Number Sense & Place Value: Understanding numbers, counting, and the value of digits in larger numbers.
*Addition & Subtraction: Mastering basic facts, regrouping, and word problems.
*Multiplication & Division: Building fluency with multiplication tables, understanding factors, and division concepts.
*Fractions: Understanding parts of a whole, comparing fractions, and basic fraction operations.
*Measurement: Learning units of measurement, time, money, and basic concepts of length, weight, and volume.
*Geometry: Identifying shapes, understanding properties, and working with symmetry and angles.
*Word Problems & Problem-Solving: Developing strategies for tackling real-world math problems.
*Algebraic Thinking: Beginning to understand patterns, equations, and basic algebra concepts.

With years of experience teaching students from grades K-5 (including homeschooling my own children), I can support a wide range of math abilities at the elementary level. Each week may look a little different, depending on your student’s needs, but sessions will always be designed to either build on current knowledge, explore new concepts, review previously covered topics, or strengthen existing math skills.

It would be helpful if you could share some details about your student’s current math needs. In our first session, I’ll take the time to get to know your student, assess their understanding of key math concepts, and work with them to create a personalized plan for progress.

What to Bring:
Please have paper and pencil or a whiteboard and dry-erase marker ready for each session.
