Hello! This is my entry for the art contest. It took me about… 4-6 hours? I made the setting during sundown, because i thought it looked better compared to the lighting during day/night. The girl in the middle is one of my characters that I’ve been drawing for 2 years. I wanted to highlight her while the other people blend into the background. The ideas just been sitting in my mind for a while but i never got the chance to draw it until now!

I'm Anya, and I create art on Procreate and traditional. One of the main items in my life that inspires me and my creative work is nature. Even outside in my neighborhood, I can find inspiration for my art. Something about the fresh air helps me clear my head when I am anxious or too excited that I can’t focus and do my work. The small page curl in the corner and the quotes in the cloud & mountain represents my love of reading. The way that the words dance on the page just fills me with wonder.

I knew I was taking a risk with shading but I wanted to improve. I used 2B, 4B, and 6B pencil grades to achieve the dark contrasts that make light shades pop out. This painting became something I didn't plan. It started as a detailed raven inspired by Death Cab for Cutie, but the more layers I added, the more it became its own thing. Hi! My name is Rebekah, and this is my art piece entitled "hope." In this drawing, I depict myself as a skeleton, which represents vulnerability and the beauty of originality. The bones are chipped and broken from trauma, betrayal, and hurt. However, despite all the pain from life circumstances and mentality, there is new growth. Flowers bloom from the vines crawling up the body, showing that hope can still be found in the darkest places of life, and there is always something more to live for.

Hello! My name is Jayson and I’m fascinated my tragedy and comedy masks and jesters (both of which were my inspiration). A jester, something thought of to be joyful, using a mask used to display a set emotion on a stage with no crowd. The mask being used to hide something that the circus does not want the audience to know. Being controlled by string, unable to do anything with his own will using the mask to hide it all. Sometimes our life’s are like that, we try to hide how we really feel.

This was inspired by things I’ve loved since I was a child, like princesses, their large sweeping gowns, and my old music box with a small ballerina. I wanted this to feel nostalgic, magical, and warm. Her appearance is based off myself, her tiara is inspired by the old plastic toy crowns I used to dress up with, and her dress is a fusion of all the different classical dress styles I love.

Hi, my name is Oscar and I love planes, Pokémon and robots. I was inspired to create this because I wanted to make a comic strip about a little robot. The main character is called Artbot and he lives on a harsh junk planet in space but, suddenly a spaceship above explodes and flaming parts fall out of the sky! Since I wanted a happy ending, in the end he gets back up and starts again turning a bad thing into a good thing! Since its volume 1, I'm going to make more comics about robots in space.

I seriously don’t know why I made this, I was lying in bed and I had a sudden thought about drawing a snake, then I just built on that. Everything below the collarbone on the skeleton is based of a Google image, the rest is from my imagination, hence why the snakes look like gummy worms 🐛. Uhhhh I don’t know what to put…I spent around maybe 6-8 hours on it, during class periods, and I was really scared to color the snakes because it was my first time using shading and blending with color. My piece describes the changes in my life. The time on the clock, 8:20 is around the time that I was born, an important key detail in my life. Some other changes in my life were moving houses, changing schools, and learning to love swim. The wide variety of colors I used in my artwork, they are all different, even in the slightest bit. My name is Emilio and I love drawing because you can tell a story in your own way. I learned about the meteor shower which killed dinosaurs and that inspired me to draw Robo Dino. In this story the meteor shower causes fire and Robo Dino was the only dinosaur to survive. He lost parts of his body but found a robot body that he used to save himself. Now he is happy to start a new life in the city. This drawing makes me feel happy that the dinosaur survived and escaped the fire.
