Outschool is an inclusive, fun, and respectful place to learn. Everyone on our shared platform – kids, parents, and teachers – deserves to feel welcome, included, and valued. What we say and do matters. By following a few simple policy guidelines, together, we can all help make Outschool awesome for everyone!
Platform Trust & Safety
Enrollments & Classroom Integrity
- Honor published start times and reply to enrolled families promptly.
- Communicate promptly with families about any enrollment or schedule changes.
- Use a professional, private, quiet, desk-based setup - sessions from vehicles, public spaces, beds, bathrooms, or other personal spaces don’t meet safety standards.

- Supervise all live sessions through the Outschool‑provided Zoom links.
Privacy & Learner Safety
- Verify the identity of all enrolled learners at the start of each meeting.
- Report any unauthorized access to Outschool immediately.

- In-person meetings are only allowed when part of an Outschool‑sponsored event.
- Only one guest teacher is permitted per class session.
- Unbackground-checked guests may not be left alone with learners.
- Regular guests, such as co-teachers, must become approved Outschool educators.
- Do not share account credentials.
- All educators on Outschool are considered to be mandatory reporters and must follow all local government reporting requirements about suspected abuse or neglect.
- Teachers are also encouraged to bring known cases of suicidal ideation or self-harm to attention of the safety team so they can advise on possible intervention as needed.
Third-Party Tools & Materials
- Limit external resources to those disclosed in the class listing.
- Don’t direct learners under 13 to any tools that are not COPPA-compliant.
- Include any AI use in your class listing.
- For gaming classes, use private servers or the most private mode available and collect gamer tags privately, not in the classroom feed.
