In this one-time art class, students will learn to draw a realistic snow globe landscape with a deer, snowman, bunny, and pine trees, using pencil.

I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me.  My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where discussion between teacher and students is encouraged and a great place for students to make lasting friendships.  I ask students questions throughout the lesson to check for student understanding.  Students may also interact with each other if they want to share what they have learned during class.  Students who enroll in this class should have basic drawing skills, like drawing and manipulating shapes with a pencil.

What will students learn?

1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a snow globe, deer, snowman, and bunny, using pencil. 
2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast.
3. Students will learn techniques to draw falling snow, using a pencil and an eraser.
4. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic pine trees, using a pencil and an eraser.
5. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic mountains, using a pencil and an eraser.
6. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic glassy texture, using a pencil and an eraser.
