Our Class Objective: In this popular animal science class, students will learn facts about Kiwi Birds of New Zealand. We will explore and compare their habitat, characteristics, diet, social behavior and conservation status. During Class: I will be using photo slides in a power point presentation and asking interactive questions that will also integrate elements of language arts, math and science vocabulary. - Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of the Kiwi Bird such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics.
- Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like the New Zealand Kiwi Bird.
- Students will learn why conservation of Kiwi Birds is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species.
- Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of Kiwi Birds in their New Zealand habitat.
