In this 4 week course, students will learn the 40 most common North American birds that can be found in backyards, at feeders, in city parks, or flying over. Each week, students will be introduced to 10 new birds. They will learn physical characteristics, songs and calls, distribution, and fun facts for each bird. This class is great for students who are beginner birders or just want to learn more about what birds are around them. This class is lecture and slide-based. Students do not need any previous experience for this class. There will be room for discussions and questions. Students can interact as much or as little as they want. There will be no homework for this course, but it is recommended for students to get out and see what local birds they can identify with their new identification skills.
