Helping children learn new words should not be random. Skip studying words in the dictionary that aren't used often; instead, opt for words that are commonly used at home, at the playground, in school, and in places children are welcome. In this word workshop, we will explore words centered around specific themes as follows... Possible Class Themes: *Around the house *Playground *School *Stores / Shopping *Pet Shop *The Beach & Ocean Animals As we learn new vocabulary using photos and PowerPoint slides, each child will be encouraged to read short sentences using the new words. **This workshop will include common word families and may include topics/lessons on nouns, adjectives, sight words, prepositions, present tense, and present progressive ***While this is not an ESL-specific course, children comfortable with basic English (Alphabet and letter sounds) and seeking English immersion are welcome to join.

I'm Tiffany. I encourage students to read for enjoyment and to get into the practice of challenging themselves to explore topics they enjoy through literature so that learning is well-rounded, relevant, and fun.
I have experience teaching in the USA through AmeriCorps and teaching English abroad in Europe {Prague}. Also, I spent several years working professionally as a chemist (toxicology, food science, molecular biology, analytical chemistry labs) before leaving my job to become a home educator and digital creator.
