Big feelings, small feelings. We all have feelings, but what can we do about them? In this weekly class we will go through the alphabet practicing different self-regulation techniques and become aware of our feelings and emotions. What is mindfulness and why is it important? Mindfulness is the ability to be aware of your surroundings and our bodies. By practising mindfulness, we learn strategies to avoid becoming easily distracted, stressed and overwhelmed by situations. Learners will be given one challenge per letter of the alphabet to complete at home. These challenges are optional but can help children to practice mindfulness techniques and to create good habits. Learners will also be give a breathing technique for each letter of the alphabet for them to practice at home.
